Fresh from breaking the Championship goal record, Aleksandar Mitrović spoke to journalists about his relationship with Fulham.

“The moment I stepped in this place, I felt love,” he explained. “This Club is maybe not the biggest club in the world, but it’s a club that has soul, passion. This Club is like a small family.

“I have an amazing connection with this Club, and every single time I step on this pitch I feel really comfortable, I get a really loving welcome.

“It’s an amazing feeling and it’s nice to share this amazing moment with this Club and these fans.”

It’s 33 league goals for Mitro now in 2021/22, and he’s put it down to being in peak condition.

“I feel really good,” he said. “I feel I’m in the best shape of my life, physically and mentally.

“The Manager is tough, they changed the way we train. They changed a lot of details and I think as a team we feel more fit.

“I don’t know, I just feel fitter than I was before.  We run a lot, we press a lot.

“The Manager wants us to be on the front foot and at top speed always, so there’s been some adjustment, but it’s adjustment that has made a big difference for us.”
