Fulham v Birmingham City | Tuesday 18th January 2022 | 7.45pm | Craven Cottage | #FULBIR
The opposition
- Birmingham had two games called off between Christmas and New Year after a number of positive Covid cases and injuries in their squad.
- They arrive in SW6 struggling for form, having won just one of their last 10 in all competitions.
- Blues did, however, secure a positive result at the weekend, with Scott Hogan’s 86th minute equaliser securing a point at Preston North End.

Fulham team news
Marco Silva revealed in his pre-match press conference that he will have the same squad available that he did for Bristol City.
Birmingham team news
First choice goalkeeper Matija Sarkic suffered a season-ending injury at the start of the month and so has returned to parent club Wolves, meaning ex-Fulham stopper Neil Etheridge will be between the sticks. Injury denies another former player a return, though, as Jordan Graham has a hamstring injury, while Ivan Sanchez and Tahith Chong are also out. George Friend is available again after serving a one-match ban.

Covid protocols
Fans are reminded that they will need to show either a valid vaccine passport or proof of a negative lateral flow test in order to be admitted to the ground. This process will slow down entry to Craven Cottage, so we advise that you arrive at least an hour prior to kick-off to ensure you don’t miss any of the game.

Player insight
Tom Cairney thinks Fulham can take confidence from our two victories at St Andrew’s earlier in the season.
“They’re going to be looking to make it awkward for us and cagey when they come here on Tuesday night,” he said. “But we’ve beaten them twice already this season and, on our patch, we can beat anyone on our day, so we’ve got to be looking to get three points.”

Black armbands
The players will be sporting black armbands in memory of Paul Smithers, our Youth & Community Manager, who sadly passed away earlier this month.

"It’s going to be tough. They’ve got Premier League players. We’ll try and do the best we can away from home against a tough side."
