The Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of 18-year-old midfielder Kristian Šekularac.

The Swiss international, who was born in London, spent his youth career at Servette FC before moving to Italy and featuring for Juventus' Under-19s and Under-23s. Kristian featured 23 times last season and has been brought in to feature for Steve Wigley's 21s.

His impressive club performances led to a series of appearances for Switzerland across multiple age groups, with the attacking midfielder scoring two goals in six games for the Under-19s.

After officially signing, Kristian said: "I'm feeling great and I'm super excited to join this club. I've admired Fulham for a very long time and I can't wait to crack on and start playing games.

"I've met most of the lads and they seem like a really great group. They've been really welcoming. I've also met pretty much all the staff so I can't complain.

"The fans can expect a creative player who likes to put on a show. I can play anywhere in midfield and I'm a technical player."

For such a young prospect, Kristian certainly has an impressive CV ahead of his permanent switch.

"I really hope I can bring my overall game and competitiveness, because I really hate losing! I'll be looking to contribute in any way possible."

Following promotion into Division One, our new recruit can expect to play against some of the very best young talent England has to offer.

"That was a huge thing for me. It's a great bonus to be able to play the best of the best and we look forward to testing ourselves. I can't wait to begin."

While the lure of playing top flight Academy football was important, there were several other factors that helped make it an easy decision for the youngster.

"First of all, the history of the club when it comes to youth players in terms of developing them and giving them senior opportunities, was a pull. Huw [Jennings] also spoke to me, my dad and my agent quite a lot and he really convinced us.

"I also spoke to Steve [Wigley] and he's been a huge factor. His mindset of developing players is great and I thought I'd fit right in straight away. This is definitely the best place for me to develop and hopefully push towards the First Team.

Kristian with his arms folded

Despite not yet playing any competitive football, Kristian is expecting some differences in relation to style of play.

"That was another reason for me wanting to join this club. The style of football in England, especially at Fulham, works perfectly for me. The pace of the game and the freedom that's given to players to express themselves is brilliant."

Academy Director Mike Cave added: "I’m delighted that Kristian has agreed to join us. He's a technically outstanding midfielder and will bring great experience from his time at Juventus.

"He will no doubt be a key contributor initially for the Under-21s, as they return to PL2 Division One."
