Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce a new collaborative partnership with HerGameToo this week.

A non-profit organisation, HerGameToo was founded by 12 female football fans committed to raising awareness of, and helping to fight, sexism in football.

We pride ourselves on being an open and inclusive football club, and it was for this reason we launched our Fulham For All campaign last year to champion equality and diversity in everything we do, themes that tie in with the HerGameToo philosophy.

A number of clubs both at home and abroad have partnered with HerGameToo, with the aim of highlighting the issues that females can face in the stands, as well as online.

Fulham’s match against Blackburn Rovers this Saturday has been designated the Club’s official International Women’s Day fixture, and so we will be incorporating our new partnership into the day as well.

On the day, a double page spread about HerGameToo will appear in our matchday programme, while we will also feature their logo on our big screens and LEDs inside the stadium.

Furthermore, all the ball-persons at the game will be female, and the First Team players will warm up in HerGameToo t-shirts, which will then be presented to the ball girls following the match.

HerGameToo are helping to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and females at stadiums, championing women who play football, work in football or follow football, whilst also continuing to campaign against the abuse women suffer, and sexism attached to the game, to ensure women are respected equally and can feel safe doing something they love.

We will also be producing a Club video featuring some of our female staff, talking about their roles and experiences of working in football. This will be published on our website on International Women’s Day (Tuesday 8th March).

“In my almost seven years at Fulham, I’ve always known us to be an incredibly inclusive football club, so it’s great to see us working with HerGameToo,” said Club Captain Tom Cairney.

“Football is a sport for everyone and nobody should ever receive abuse for enjoying the game on account of their gender.

“It’s mad to think this still happens in this day and age, so well done to the guys at HerGameToo for the work they’re doing and for using their platform and working with football clubs to get this important message across.”

Lifelong supporter Amelia Armstrong was recently confirmed as HerGameToo’s Fulham ambassador, and was delighted to see two of her passions come together: “I am thrilled to see Fulham partner up with HerGameToo. As the club ambassador, I can’t wait to help support all the wonderful female fans we have at our Club. Come on you Whites!”

Lucy Ford, Co-Founder, said: “HerGameToo is a movement set up with the aim to raise awareness of the sexist abuse in football.

“Our aim is to tackle the misogynistic culture surrounding football so we can create a better and more inclusive atmosphere for female fans for now and the next generation.

“We feel it is important to have the support and backing of football clubs throughout the country, across all levels, so we are delighted to be partnering with Fulham and we look forward to working together.”

We want everyone to enjoy their trips to Craven Cottage, and so if you witness any form of anti-social behaviour, you can text the word FULHAM, followed by details of the issue, to 60066.
