Fulham v Blackburn Rovers | Saturday 5th March 2022 | 12.30pm | Craven Cottage | #FULBLA

The opposition

  • Blackburn’s 7-0 home defeat by Fulham proved to be a catalyst for their season, as they then went on a stunning run which saw them take 26 points from a possible 30.
  • That form catapulted Rovers into contention for automatic promotion, with goal difference alone keeping them below second place Bournemouth in the table. They’ve won just two out of their last seven, but are still comfortably in the Play-Off places.
  • Only Aleksandar Mitrović has scored more Championship goals this season than Ben Brereton Diaz, and so it was a massive blow for Blackburn when the forward damaged his ankle ligaments in their goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion last month.

Fulham team news

Marco Silva will have Neeskens Kebano and Antonee Robinson available again after the pair sat out last week’s win over Cardiff City. Tom Cairney has also been back training with the team, and our Head Coach will make a late call on his involvement.

Blackburn team news

Influential midfielder Joe Rothwell missed last Saturday’s win over QPR but is fit again for the weekend. Right-back Ryan Nyambe was stretchered off in that game and will miss a few weeks, while Brereton Diaz is not expected to play again until after the international break.

Player insight

Tim Ream is expecting Blackburn Rovers to be a tough obstacle at Craven Cottage in Saturday’s early kick-off.

“It’s going to be another difficult one,” he told FFCtv. “They won their last match but before that they were struggling a bit.

“But we’re expecting a tough game as they want to stay in the Play-Offs, or maybe push for the top-two.

“I don’t think anyone should expect a 7-0 again, but we’re looking to win the game.”

Pre-match quotes

"It’s a team that plays with a lot of energy and a lot of belief in themselves. They will come here to match us, and because of that I’m saying it will be a tough one. It will be a big test for us."

Marco Silva

Fulham Head Coach

"I think Fulham are the best team in the league. Every team gives you different problems, Fulham are a ball retention team. They've got the top striker in the division, they've got some extraordinarily good players for this division."
