Fulham academy graduate, Zesh Rehman, has announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.

Rehman came through our youth setup, having first been spotted by a scout at just 12 years old, and rose through the ranks before making his way into the first team.

In making his Premier League debut with us, a goalless draw at Anfield against Liverpool, he became the first British-Asian to play in the competition.

The defender made 30 appearances for us, 21 of them coming in the Premier League, scoring once.

Following the end of his career at Fulham, he went on to play for QPR, Bradford City, Pahang, among others, and retires having played in Hong Kong for the final years of his career.

Taking to Twitter to announce his retirement, he said: "After 21 years as a pro, it's time for the next chapter. I've had some amazing experiences on & off the pitch. Big thank you to my mentors, bosses, clubs, coaches, teammates & fans who made it a memorable journey. The dream must always be greater than the memory."

Congratulations, Zesh and we wish you all the best in your retirement.
