Fulham Under-21s look ahead to their second Premier League Cup group match on Friday, when they face Nottingham Forest away (7pm ko).

Form

Nottingham Forest:

Forest also won their first Group A game, beating Charlton Athletic 3-1 away from home to get themselves up and running. They're also enjoying an excellent run in PL2 Division Two and have scored at least four goals in three of their last four league outings.

Fulham:

Our cup journey got off to a dramatic start with Steve Wigley's lads narrowly beating Hull City 5-4 in what was a highly entertaining game at Motspur Park. The young Whites will be hoping to show a response after falling to defeat against Liverpool last weekend.

One To Watch: Ateef Konaté

Forest's targetman found the net on five occasions in just the month of October alone, and will be looking to continue his impressive tally on Friday. He made a senior cup and league appearance last season.

Player Thoughts

Defender Ibane Bowat is wary of the threat Forest will bring, but is hoping for a more controlled performance than in PL Cup Match Round One.

"We’ll have to be on the front foot from the word go," he said. "We know Nottingham Forest are a high pressing team so we’ll have to be ready for that. We’re aiming to have a lot more control over the game.

"Our defensive structure has improved so we’ll be looking to bring that into this game and hopefully keep a clean sheet."

Bowat vs Liverpool

"It’s important for us to bounce back from our disappointing result up in Liverpool last week. We weren’t quite at it but we’ll work hard in order to get the result we need this time."

After spending several years playing at centre-back, the 20-year-old is embracing recent life as a left-back.

"I’m always happy to put a shift in wherever Steve [Wigley] wants me to play. I’ve enjoyed playing at left-back as I’m able to show a different side of my game and express more of my attacking ability going forward."
