Fulham Under-18s' impressive league run continued on Saturday with a dominant 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Josh King opened his Under-18s account before an own goal and a Terrell Works strike just before the break gave us a three-goal cushion. Lemar Gordon put the game to bed 10 minutes after the restart at Motspur Park.

It was in fact the visitors who created the first decent opening just a minute in. After breaking away down the right-hand side, a stinging low effort from 25 yards was blocked by goalkeeper Alfie McNally, who then smothered the loose ball.

The young Whites responded well to the early danger signs and created a chance of their own on 15 minutes. Luc De Fougerolles put in some unbelieveable work down the right, beating several Villa players before squaring the ball to Aaron Loupalo-Bi. Our number nine cleverly swivelled on the ball before watching as his effort was well saved.

We then went ahead just three minutes later, courtesy of King. The youngster not only finished the move, but started it himself too with a nice diagonal ball towards De Fougerolles. The right-back slid the ball across to Works who in turn set up King. The promising young midfielder made no mistake, sweeping his shot into the top left corner.

Our lead was doubled on the 43-minute mark, and it came via bizarre circumstances. The Villa goalkeeper misjudged his attempted pass across to a defender and the ball rolled over his goal line. A gift as half-time approached.

Ali Melloul's side weren't done there and managed to add a third, still before half-time. Loupalo-Bi progressed with the ball before slotting in Works towards the right side of the Villa area. Our skilful winger cut inside to take a defender out the game before finishing with his left foot.

Works on target

Gordon ensured that there was no chance of any Villa comeback 10 minutes after the restart, making it 4-0. Defender Harvey Araujo stamped his authority in midfield, stepping forward to win the ball before releasing Gordon down the left. He charged forward before calmly slotting a low shot into the far bottom corner.

McNally needed to stay alert for us up the other end on 70 minutes and did. Following a neatly worked short corner, he was on his toes and dived to his left to keep out an effort from just outside the area.

Melloul made a host of changes with his side cruising at Motspur Park. Two players to leave the field were King and Samuel Amissah, who were flying off on international duty with England Under-16s later that day.

A few of our other substitutes quickly began to make an impact. Tom Olyott linked up nicely with Works, who found Ma'kel Bogle-Campbell, but his decent attempt was well saved.

That result means the lads have won three of their previous four league games and continue to climb the table. Next up is a huge West London Derby against Chelsea on Saturday.
