Leicester City U21 0-7 Fulham U21

Fulham Under-21s were at the peak of their powers on Monday evening, smashing Leicester City 7-0 away from home.

We saw a hat-trick and a brace for Ollie O'Neill and Luke Harris respectively, as well as a Jannik Vestergaard own goal and Olly Sanderson strike. The result also means the lads have kept three clean sheets in a row and are just two points off the top spot.

Steve Wigley gave goalkeeper Michael Allen the call in between the sticks, and Ibane Bowat came in for Stefan Parkes at left-back. With Adrion Pajaziti picking up an injury in training, Martial Godo stepped in on the left-hand side.

The first chance of the game fell to the hosts. Tawanda Maswanhise dribbled down the left-hand side, before watching as his low strike was well saved by Allen.

After a quiet opening 15 minutes, Harris forced goalkeeper Chituru Odunze into a diving stop, taking aim from outside the area.

Just a minute later, we went ahead. Martial Godo burst down the right-hand side and fired a low cross which was diverted into the Leicester goal by senior centre-back, Vestergaard.

We doubled our advantage on the 26-minute mark through Harris. O'Neill's corner was excellently flicked on by Connor McAvoy, before being nodded home by the Welshman at the back post.

The young Whites were playing some brilliant football and came close to a third soon after. Godo and Luciano D'Auria-Henry linked up down the right, before the latter found O'Neill in the middle. He couldn't quite reach it and the chance slipped away.

We extended our lead again with 10 minutes of the first half remaining. Harris played a lovely ball through to O'Neill, who made no mistake, slotting the ball home calmly.

An impressive opening half meant we were three goals to the good at the break.

O'Neill bagged his second soon after the restart, poking the ball in at the back post after latching onto a nice Godo cross.

Our Republic of Ireland international then completed his hat-trick following a superb move, which started from the back. Harris was the provider again, releasing O'Neill who made no mistake.

Five became six with just under 20 minutes to play. Matt Dibley-Dias floated an exquisite ball towards O'Neill, who simply squared it to Sanderson. He tapped home, which was his final touch before being substituted off.

Harris continued to cause a threat and scored his second to make it 7-0. D'Auria-Henry's powerful delivery was expertly volleyed in from inside the Leicester area.

An emphatic display helped make it a memorable night for Wigley's side.
