Marco Silva felt "Tottenham deserved the three points" on Saturday afternoon.

"It wasn’t our best performance at all. Most of the time we didn’t reach our expected standards. In the first half we were not good enough on the ball, and we knew they would come to press us. We gave the ball away too many times, sometimes even without pressure.

"We made too many incorrect decisions and were not dynamic in order to create problems for the opposition."

On a positive note, the boss was pleased with how we ended the game, almost leveling the scoring late on.

"The first goal we condeded was too sloppy but in the second half, I saw much more courage from my team, to play and to match them. Even after their second goal, at least we tried until the end.

"When we scored the goal, of course we believed much more. There was a very good chance for Mitrović to equalise and one for Tom Cairney as well, but I have to be honest… Tottenham deserved the three points."

Silva on the touchline

Aleksandar Mitrović's beautiful curling strike brought his tally up to six goals in six Premier League games.

"If you play better as a team, he’ll have more chances to score goals. If you deliver for him and are more dynamic, he has the chance to be even more dangerous. It was good to see that we at least fought until the end and we believed that we could equalise late on against a strong side.

"It’s now a moment for us to analyse and show the players why we didn’t perform how we should on the ball. We’ll look to improve as always for next week and become stronger."

Silva is yet to see the extent of Antonee Robinson's injury, but is hoping it's nothing too damaging.

"We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see, and then day by day to see how he is. Let’s hope that it’s nothing serious and let’s hope he can be ready for next week, but now is too soon to talk about it."

When asked about Bernd Leno's impressive performance, Silva responded: "Everything he is giving us, I fully expect from him. He is a top goalkeeper. When he’s needed he’s always there and he gives us a calmness in certain moments of the game. He’s very important for us and will be in many more games."
