Last week, two of our players surprised pupils at Melcombe Primary School during an education activation delivered by Fulham FC Foundation in the lead up to Easter.

Pupils and staff were starstruck when Issa Diop and Carlos Vinicius dropped in to talk to the young pupils about the local community.

On Wednesday 29th April, Fulham FC Foundation delivered a "Be Connected" education activation designed to explore the importance of community and how this improves our mental health and sense of belonging.

Through the Premier League Primary Stars programme, children from Years 5 & 6 were tasked with designing a card to go alongside an Easter egg as a gift to someone else in our community.

Issa and Vini stopped by to talk to the assembled group, helping with the design of these cards and signing autographs before dropping off the Easter Eggs to a local nursery alongside a small group of Melcombe pupils.

"Thank you so much! The children (and staff!) really enjoyed the assembly and making the cards for the nursery children. Obviously, Issa Diop and Carlos Vinicius were a massive hit too! They both had a lot of time for the children which I know they appreciated.” – Melinda Woodcock, Head of School, Melcombe Primary School

"Activations like these demonstrate the value we can add to our local community. Empowering pupils at our partner schools in events such as these create memories the children will remember for a lifetime. Fulham FC is a powerful tool that can engage and inspire pupils, and we are able to provide a different voice when promoting positive behaviours.” - Kayleigh Bowers, Football Development Officer, Fulham FC Foundation
