Marco Silva could be in a position to name Neeskens Kebano in his matchday squad for the visit of Leeds United on Saturday.

The winger began the season in fine form, before suffering a desperately unlucky Achilles injury.

“Good news on Kebano,” Silva revealed. “The last weeks, he's been working with the team, and it’s good to see him to work well, train well, and to be involved again. Probably he can be involved in the squad list for tomorrow’s match.

“As you know, Daniel James and Mitrović are going to be out, but all the others are available.”

James excelled up top against Everton, but his ineligibility against his parent club means Silva will have to choose between a similar system with Bobby De Cordova-Reid leading the line, or reverting back to a targetman.

“Without Mitrović, we always have our number nine reference that is Carlos Vinicius, and we have Daniel James or Bobby,” he explained. “They are the players that can play there.

“You have these two players to adapt in a slightly different role, a false nine, different profiles, playing more to attack in behind in some moments to connect in a different way.

“It is between these three players. We are going to choose one, within our strategy, for the match.”
