Fulham FC Foundation are proud to announce a new partnership with Southborough High School to run the Premier League Inspires programme for their students.

The Premier League Inspires programme works with ‘at risk’ or ‘marginalised’ secondary school students who need a little extra support to fulfil their academic potential. This support is provided through a weekly 2-hour intervention that includes:

  • A qualification.
  • Mentoring sessions.
  • Workshops, trips and events.
  • A social action project.
  • Physical activity.

Having already engaged over 100 students, across five secondary schools this academic year, Fulham FC Foundation are excited to start their latest cohort at Southborough High School.

Starting after the Easter holidays, Fulham FC Foundation staff are working with a cohort of Year 8 students from the school and our team are already excited to see what this group is able to achieve for the remainder of the year.

“Premier League Inspires is a brilliant programme that is able to provide targeted support for the young people it engages. Having already met the students that will be taking part, I know it's going to have a really positive impact on them for the remainder of this academic year. We can’t wait to see all the hard work the students put into their sessions, and look forward to celebrating everything they achieve come the end of the year.” - Richard Morris, Secondary Education & Careers Manager at Fulham FC Foundation.

These thoughts were echoed by the school, who reached out to us to run the programme after seeing the positive impact PL Inspires has had on students at other schools.

“As a school, we have found it necessary to adapt our curriculum offer to suit the needs of our students. By working with Fulham Football Club Foundation and the Premier League Inspires programme, we are able to better engage our students through a more bespoke, targeted intervention that developing core values of respect, resilience and responsibility.” - Daniel Edwards, Senior Assistant Headteacher at Southborough High School
