Football has the power to bring us together. Schools, clubs and communities are stronger when everyone feels welcome, and it's down to all of us to make that happen. Fulham FC Foundation is committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and are delighted to be part of the 2023/24 Rainbow Laces Campaign. This is how your primary school can get involved!
Fulham FC Foundation are fully-funding the delivery of Rainbow Laces workshops throughout December 2023. This new workshop gives pupils the opportunity to talk about the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport and beyond. Pupils will learn about the Rainbow Laces campaign, how to be an ally, and demonstrate active allyship to the LGBTQ+ community. Pupils will also look at the history of football’s involvement with Rainbow Laces.
This 60-minute classroom intervention is designed for pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6) and takes place during the school day. This fully-funded offer is available to all primary schools in Hammersmith & Fulham, Wandsworth, Merton, Lambeth and Kingston – limited availability applies.
“Football inspires millions of people around the world – it has the power to bring people together and improve our mental and physical health. These workshops are important because they aim to raise awareness of the campaign and empower young people to actively support their friends and family by becoming allies.” – Kayleigh Bowers, Primary Education Manager
