Marco Silva wants the Fulham faithful to give his side an extra lift on Wednesday night.

Our Head Coach cited Liverpool’s home crowd as a major factor in their comeback victory over the Whites, and is keen to see our fans have a similar impact.

“I really hope that the Cottage is going to be buzzing, because we need it,” he said. “We need the crowd behind us. We need them from the first minute, because it can play a big part.

“It’s easy to understand, in my opinion, for example we were playing at Anfield and we scored [to make it] 3-2.

“We were celebrating the goal and our fans, they were of course over the moon, because it was not just the 3-2, it was a very great team goal, the way we built up that goal was a very, very good level.

“But I started, from this moment, to feel the stadium pushing again, with everybody pushing for Liverpool, even though they conceded 3-2. And, of course, this makes the difference.

Marco Silva applauds the Fulham fans

“This type of reaction from the [Liverpool] fans, even if you are unhappy with the third goal, okay you are unhappy, but let's push the guys forward again, let's push them to try to be on the front foot, because we have enough time to turn the things again.

“It's a good example, to be honest. The reaction from the Anfield crowd after our third goal was a top example of how they should always behave. In a tough moment, the away team scored the third goal, and they react straightaway as a crowd.

“For [the Forest] match, I hope our fans are behind the team from the first moment. If something doesn't come like we want in the first minutes, to keep always behind us, to push the players forward.

“Because 100 per cent sure, the players are going to show up, they are going to give their 100 per cent to win the match.”
