Last week, Fulham Football Club commemorated a significant milestone, celebrating 10 years of Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign by a range of initiatives and activity across the Club.

Stonewall, the largest LGBTQ+ rights organisation in Europe and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in sports, delivered a wealth of knowledge and understanding onto our young Academy starlets through an interactive workshop led by stonewall education account managers Anne Onwusiri and Georgia Golding.

Our young athletes engaged in thought-provoking discussions centred around identity, inclusivity, and the challenges posed by homophobia within sports and local communities.

Stonewall's invaluable 10-year contribution in delivering educational awareness sessions has left a lasting impact on the footballing community in the fight for equality and continues to help educate the next generation of leaders.

The Club's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Manager, Jamie Dapaah, spoke on the importance of Stonewall to the footballing community.

"The importance of Stonewalls educational sessions cannot be overstated. They represent a powerful platform for dialouge and enlightment on topical issues within local communites and beyond. The Premier League’s Academy Life Skills session facilited by Stonewall offers our Academy players the opportunity to explore, understand and respect diverse identities.

"The objective is just not to educate but to inspire emphaty, allyship and a culture of acceptance among the next generation of athletes. As football continues to serve as a unifying force worldwide, the workshops stand as a testament to the Club's unwavering commitment to creating a safe and inclusive for everyone connected to Fulham Football Club.

"The impact of the educational workshops reaches far beyond the football pitch, fostering a legacy of empathy and understanding that resonates not just within the Club but across the broader sporting community."

The Club continued to use its platform to educate, inform and raise awareness at our designated Rainbow Laces fixture at home to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
