On Wednesday 6th December, players from Fulham’s Under-18 squad joined in with Fulham FC Foundation’s Walking Football session at our Training Ground in Motspur Park.

The U18s began their day with a workshop on Walking Football, where they learned about the sport, how to play and why we love it. They were able to explore the activities that Fulham FC Foundation provide for adults of all backgrounds and abilities across South West London.

The squad learnt about how Walking Football provides both a physical and a social outlet for adults, looking to create a positive and encouraging environment open to all.

It was then time for Fulham’s young stars to put their new knowledge to the test, with the squad buddying up with the Foundation’s participants for a round robin tournament. The mix of generations gelled immediately, with the Walking Footballers keeping the U18s on their toes and testing the transfer of their skills!

"The Under-18s were a credit to the Club and themselves. We had a fantastic time and I think they did, too. Non-stop entertainment for us all and our skill levels had to increase because it made us concentrate more than normal. Can we do it again sometime soon?" - Steven, Walking Football Participant

"I enjoyed speaking to the participants and hearing their experiences for why they take part. Walking football seems like it is a great way to socialise and have fun at same time." - Samuel, Fulham U18 scholar

"Walking football is a great way to connect and be involved with the local community." - Dino, Fulham U18 scholar
