Fulham v Arsenal | Sunday 31st December | 2pm | Craven Cottage | #FULARS

The opposition

  • As was the case for much of last season, Arsenal appear well placed to mount a title challenge, currently sitting second in the standings.
  • Such is the congested nature at the top of the table, though, they could be anywhere from first to fourth as they enter 2024, depending on results elsewhere and how they fare at Craven Cottage.
  • The festive fixtures have been a mixed bag for the Gunners - after securing a vital point at Anfield, they were stunned on home turf by West Ham, who left the Emirates with a 2-0 win.

Player insight

Andreas Pereira is hoping for a similar performance on Sunday to the one which saw us claim a 2-2 draw at the Emirates at the start of the season.

“It gives us a lot of confidence,” he admitted. “We know they’re a very good team, one of the best teams in the world right now, but we know how to play against them.

“We will try to stop them the best way we can.”

The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, while FFCtv subscribers can listen to commentary from Gentleman Jim and Jamie Reid.

Matchday programme

As he prepares to take on his former side, Alex Iwobi is the subject of the main interview for Sunday’s matchday programme.

“It’s always special [playing against Arsenal] and one I’m looking forward to of course,” said Iwobi. “Because we’ve had a lot of matches recently, I haven’t given it much thought until now. It has been the old cliché of taking things a match at a time.

“I’ve always felt like I’ve got a point to prove coming up against Arsenal. As is always the case, I want to play my part and be on the winning side.”

Elsewhere in the programme, Robert Wilson – who played 253 matches for Fulham in two spells with the Club between 1980 and 1985 and from 1987 to 1989 – features in our ‘Ex Files’ series.

Priced at £4, you can pick up a copy of the programme on the day or online.
