Fulham marched on in the FA Cup on Saturday, making it four wins out of four since the restart in the process.

Layvin Kurzawa's first-half goal got us off to a good start, tucking home the rebound from 6 yards after Harry Wilson's effort was clawed out. Dan James then added the cherry on top with the last kick of the game, tapping into an empty net with everyone from Hull pushing up in search of a leveller.

Marco Silva inevitably rung the changes for his XI in Humberside. Carlos Vinicius led the line with James and Wilson alongside him, while there were also a bunch of changes at the back. Marek Rodák was between the sticks, whilst Kurzawa made only his second start in White amongst a fresh looking defence.

After a solid spell of possession to start with for Fulham, it was Hull who had the first chance of note in the fourth minute. Bobby De Cordova-Reid didn’t quite deal with an awkward loop upfield from the hosts, and Harvey Vale found himself one-on-one with Rodák, but could only poke his shot wide.

The Tigers seemed well up for this one, and had another attempt on goal a few minutes later. A good ball over the top was pounced upon, and after it found its’ way to Lewie Coyle, his teasing left-footed effort had to be parried well by Rodák.

Fulham were knocking it around nicely though and created a couple of opportunities of their own after 15 minutes. Some silky interplay between Tom Cairney and Wilson allowed the latter to fire a low cross into the box, before De Cordova-Reid did the same thing moments later, but both were defended well.

Greg Docherty was able to get a couple of shots off in the 28th minute after linking up well with Coyle down the left. The first attempt was bravely, and perhaps painfully, blocked by Tosin, and the second was put well over.

The Whites got their biggest opportunity of the game so far just after half an hour played. James did well to win the ball back and cross towards Vinicius, who showed composure to lay it back to fellow Brazilian, Andreas Pereira. His fake shot sold a few in black and amber, before his left-footed drive at goal was tipped over by Matt Ingram.

The left side was bringing plenty of joy for Fulham now, and it was Pereira who grabbed another opportunity for himself next as a result. James linked up smartly with Cairney, who popped in a lovely ball centrally for our playmaker, but on the half-volley he couldn’t quite steer it on target.

A few minutes later and we had a lead. After Harry Wilson had a luscious curling shot saved from the right, Kurzawa found himself with an open net to volley in to, and obliged to score on only his second competitive appearance for Fulham.

The second half started with more Cairney class continued from the first. Jinking away from his man, our captain played in James down the left. The ball eventually found its’ way back to TC who decided to unleash a shot of his own on the edge of the box, but it flew narrowly over the bar.

The skipper was involved again a few minutes later. After taking a short corner, he whipped it into the danger zone from the left, and De Cordova-Reid couldn’t quite guide his header on target.

João Palhinha and Kenny Tete were introduced with a quarter of an-hour on the clock to steady the ship, before Antonee Robinson and Manor Solomon joined them a few minutes later, with the latter getting his first slice of action since August.

James, who had been lively all day, tried to double our advantage with 10 minutes left to play, but his curling shot from the left was tipped wide.

Rodák made an outstanding close-range save from substitute Aaron Connolly with five minutes on the clock, but it was quickly flagged for offside regardless.

Our shotstopper was the hero again right at the death, tipping Oscar Estupinan's header over the bar at point-blank range.

From defence to attack in an instant, Fulham sealed the result moments later. Hull had everyone up in search of an equaliser including 'keeper Ingram, and when the counter-attack was on, who better than James was there to outpace everyone and slam into an empty net.

In the end Fulham saw out a professional display to progress to the next round of the FA Cup.
