To celebrate Fulham playing in Philadelphia for the first time, we’ve teamed up with a local restaurant to rename one of the most popular items on their menu.

The Philly cheesesteak is an absolute staple in local cuisine here, and for one day only, fans can purchase The Phulham from Philips Steaks, in South Philadelphia, a couple of miles from where the Whites will face Brentford on Sunday evening.

Ahead of matchday, Billy the Badger visited Philips to see how the iconic sandwich is made. The Phulham is a hoagie filled with thin strips of steak, melted cheese, and fried onions.

Joseph Baldino, owner of Philips Steaks, is looking forward to welcoming plenty of Fulham fans down ahead of the game.

“We’ve had the pleasure to meet the Fulham Football Club here on location at Philips Steaks. On Sunday, our ‘Whiz-Wit,’ which is our most popular sandwich, will be known as The Phulham!

“Here in downtown Philadelphia, we’re a 24 hour, seven day a week operation. Family operated since 1983, this is our 40th year which is really cool.

“We’re also the official cheesesteak of the Philadelphia Union Soccer Club, and we have two locations at Lincoln Financial Field – sections 101 and 225 – where you guys will be playing today.

“It’s really exciting stuff and a pleasure to meet everyone associated with Fulham.”

Philips Steaks, a cash only operation, can be found at 2234 W Passyunk Avenue, PA 19145.
