The Club is pleased to announce that, following an incredible season on and off the pitch, Luc De Fougerolles has won the Scholar of the Year Award.

The 17-year-old right-back impressed consistently for our Under-18s and earned himself a handful of Under-21s appearances towards the end of the season.

Luc’s character has been at the centre of his success. With drive, tenaciousness, modesty and intellect, Luc is a not only successful on the pitch, but he fully embodies our Academy ethos. On top of his footballing success, Luc is completing his BTEC Sporting Excellence and Performance and two A-Levels in Psychology and Business. His commitment to further developing himself off the pitch doesn’t just stop at education. His input into every workshop or conversation with the staff is committed, purposeful and reflective.

Luc has also worked alongside other scholars to develop a social action project. He is a true ambassador for the Academy and role model for our younger players.

Head Coach Steve Wigley added: "Luc had a fantastic season, which saw him progress from being a vital part in the Under-18s side before carrying the same influence in the Under-21s."
