Fulham Football Club welcomes the inception of the Fan Engagement Standard (FES), announced by the Premier League today.
Earlier this season, Premier League clubs unanimously approved the introduction of the standard, which all 20 member clubs will begin to implement during the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The FES reinforces Fulham Football Club’s own commitment to ensuring long-term and meaningful engagement with supporters.
How We Engage
The Club has demonstrated collaboration with supporter groups over a number of years, and currently meets monthly with two independent supporter groups, the Fulham Supporters’ Trust (FST) and the Fulham FC Disabled Supporters’ Association (DSA), as well as quarterly with The 1879 Club.
Across the remainder of the season, we will continue to discuss and review our current engagement framework to establish the best approach for setting up a Fan Advisory Board (FAB), which will then be implemented for the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Club now has a Nominated Board Level Official (NBLO) in place, Club Director David Daly, who will oversee Fulham’s commitment to fan engagement and the FES.
Responsible for reviewing its delivery, the NBLO will work closely with the Club’s dedicated day-to-day project leads for this area; Management Board representatives Carmelo Mifsud (Communications Director) and Jack Burrows (Marketing Director).
Their responsibilities will cover off-pitch matters, including but not limited to, supporter relations and queries, the matchday experience, domestic and overseas supporter group relationships, as well as management of the Club’s heritage assets.
Fan Engagement Plan
From the start of the 2023/24 campaign, and in line with the FES framework, the Club will publish a season-long fan engagement plan to set key objectives and provide updated key information and contacts for fans.
Subsequently, with the aim of increasing transparency of Club matters with supporters, at the end of each campaign a report will be published to summarise key work, research and findings, as well as any achievements.
