AFC Bournemouth v Fulham | Saturday 1st April 2023 | 3pm | Vitality Stadium | #BOUFUL

The opposition

  • It’s been a tough return to action for Bournemouth since the World Cup, with 10 of their 14 fixtures, across all competitions, ending in defeat.
  • They did win their last home match prior to the international break, though, with Philip Billing’s first half strike enough to defeat Liverpool.
  • David Brooks made a welcome return to the bench for that fixture, and went one better the following week at Aston Villa, coming off the bench to provide a lovely silver lining to their 3-0 defeat. It was the winger’s first appearance since September 2021, as he battled against Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma.

Bournemouth team news

Marcus Tavernier hasn’t featured since hurting his hamstring after scoring the winner against Wolves in mid-February, but is back in the squad for the weekend. He’ll be joined by Ukraine international defender Illia Zabarynyi who will be hoping for a Bournemouth debut having struggled with an ankle problem since his deadline day arrival in January. Hamed Traore and Jefferson Lerma both had some issues while on international duty, but will be fit for Saturday.

Fulham team news

We will be without Aleksandar Mitrović and Willian through suspension, while Neeskens Kebano and Layvin Kurzawa are our only injury absentees.

Tickets

The boys will be backed by a sold out away end at the Vitality Stadium.

Club coaches

Fans taking the coach from Motspur Park are advised that, due to a road closure, they will depart from outside our Training Ground, rather than the Earl Beatty pub.

Weather

The Met Office is currently predicting a 70 per cent chance of rain come 3pm, with temperatures around 12 degrees.

Player insight

Bobby De Cordova-Reid know Bournemouth’s position of 19th will not count for much when we go head to head at the weekend.

“Obviously, the Premier League’s tough, a tough league,” he told FFCtv. “All the teams are very good, whether that’s at the bottom of the table or the top, it’s always going to be very challenging.

“We know it’s going to be a tough one on Saturday, but we’re preparing for it and we’re ready to go.”
