Fulham Under-21s completed a brilliant comeback to beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-2 in their final game of the season.

Martial Godo scored the winning goal late on, after earlier strikes from Terry Ablade and Ollie Gofford.

Head Coach Steve Wigley made five changes to the side that suffered a defeat against Liverpool last weekend.

Most notably, Alfie McNally replaced Michael Allen in goal to make his first Under-21 start this season. Idris Odutayo came in at the back to help sure up the defence alongside Luc De Fougerolles and, further up the pitch, Terry Ablade and Callum McFarlane were the preferred options.

The young Seagulls almost got themselves ahead five minutes in, when Luca Barrington was slotted through on goal. The winger opted for a low cross instead of going for goal, and luckily Odutayo was in place to clear.

Up the other end Luke Harris tested goalkeeper Killian Cahill with a strike from range, but his effort was a tame one and comfortably collected by the stopper.

Harris gets beyond a defender

The visitors were clearly uncomfortable with our intense pressing as the first half wore on.  McNally’s lofted pass was chased down by Ablade who forced a defender into heading the ball out for a corner.

Cahill was called into action for Brighton again on 27 minutes. Harvey Araujo made an overlapping run down the left before having his powerful cross punched clear before it could reach a man in white.

We found ourselves behind just past the half-hour mark. McNally did well to claw away an initial effort from point-blank range, but we could do nothing to stop Andy Moran from latching onto the rebound and finishing.

McNally needed to be alert just before the break and was, diving to his right to keep out Jack Hinshelwood's decent strike from just outside the area.

We then got ourselves level just moments later. Martial Godo's delivery from the left fell perfectly for our number nine who volleyed home in style.

That moment meant we went in at the break level.

Ablade gets us level!

Brighton came out of the traps quickly after the interval, with Araujo getting in the right position to block a venomous goal-bound effort.

We went behind for a second time on the 60-minute mark. The visitors put together a neat move which ended with Jack Hinshelwood converting from a wide, low delivery.

We were given a helping hand soon after, with Brighton reduced to 10 men. Leigh Kavanagh, who had only been on the pitch for a few minutes, was shown red for a challenge on Godo who was charging towards goal.

Loupalo-Bi in action

We began to take control and found another equaliser with just over 10 minutes to play. Two of our Under-18 substitutes combined, with Aaron Loupalo-Bi laying the ball off to Gofford who converted coolly.

Wigley's lads continued to push and push and got what they deserved with just four minutes remaining. Godo cut in from the left-hand side before watching as his deflected strike beat goalkeeper Cahill. An unbelievable turnaround.

We could've added more late on, but nevertheless, the final whistle was blown and we ended our season in style.
