On Thursday 19th October, our Fulham Memories group at Manresa Clubroom hosted a tea party with two very special guests – Fulham FC stars Harry Wilson and Harrison Reed!

Fulham Memories is a free community programme that works with older adults and aims to alleviate social isolation while supporting conditions like dementia that are common in older populations.

Our Manresa group in Roehampton meet on a weekly basis to socialise and enjoy games that encourage low impact activity and mental stimulation. Earlier this week, the Fulham Memories Mad Hatter’s tea party included games like ‘Crazy Eights,’ as well as tea, sandwiches and cakes.

Harry and Harrison joined the group for these activities, learning more about the programme and the individuals involved, sharing a cup of tea and joining in the games, including a very competitive balloon based game, with Reed crowned champion!

“We played games and the guys from Fulham that came down, it just made my day, it was great. I’ve got to know the group here and they are a lovely bunch. Just for a few hours you can forget about everything and have a bit of fun with everyone.” - Phillip, Fulham Memories participant

“Every Fulham Memories session is special, but today was exceptional. For me, seeing the participants beaming makes my role even more important. They were over the moon when Harry and Harrison arrived and got involved. It was a great treat and surprise that they will never forget!” - Katrina Webb, Health Development Assistant, Fulham FC Foundation

On Monday, more than 60 members of Fulham staff will be walking from Craven Cottage to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to raise awareness of Alzheimer's, and funds for Fulham Memories. If you wish to donate, you can do so below.

"I’d like to send my support to everyone taking part in the walk," Harry Wilson said. "Me and Harrison went just down the road and had a bit of a tea party with a few people [who are suffering from dementia] which was amazing. We played a few games, we had a laugh and a joke, and just seeing how happy they were playing those games, seeing me and Harrison, it was a special afternoon. It’s a fantastic cause, and I hope everyone taking part in it has a great day."
