Fulham v Luton Town | Saturday 16th September | 3pm | Craven Cottage | #FULLUT

The opposition

  • It’s been a tough start to Luton’s first ever Premier League campaign, with trips to Brighton and Chelsea both proving fruitless, though they were unfortunate not to get anything out of their only home game to date, with West Ham United narrowly edging them out 2-1.
  • The Carabao Cup has seen them get a win on the board, though, as they saw off Gillingham 3-2 at Kenilworth Road to set up a Third Round tie with Exeter City later this month.
  • Saturday could see two Fulham Academy graduates return to Craven Cottage. Elijah Adebayo has started each of the Hatters’ Premier League games this season, while Cauley Woodrow was on target in that cup victory over Gillingham.

Fulham team news

Tosin and Saša Lukić will definitely miss Saturday's game, while Tom Cairney is a doubt. Alex Iwobi had been carrying a knock at Everton but is fit for the weekend.

Luton team news

Captain Tom Lockyer will return after missing the West Ham defeat with a thigh injury, while Albert Sambi Lokonga and Teden Mengi – deadline day arrivals from Arsenal and Manchester United, respectively – are also available. Gabe Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark are currently sidelined with injury.

Player insight

Harry Wilson knows Luton Town will be bang up for the game as they target their first ever Premier League points, but he has faith in his team to get the job done.

“They’ll be desperate to get some points on the board in the Premier League,” Wilson told FFCtv. “They’ve had a few tough games to start, I think going away to Brighton was always going to be a tough start for them.

“It’s going to be tough, but we’re also confident, with the players and the ability that we’ve got, that when we play at the Cottage we can beat anybody.”

Mohamed Al Fayed tributes

In our first home match since the passing of our former Chairman and Owner, Saturday sees Fulham pay tribute to Mohamed Al Fayed. As was the case at Manchester City, the players will be wearing black armbands, while there will also be a period of silence ahead of kick-off. (This is also to pay respects to the victims of the recent tragic events in Morocco and Libya). Furthermore, floral tributes will be laid on the pitch by representatives of the Club and the Fulham Supporters Trust.
