Academy midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias has been called up to represent New Zealand's senior national team in two friendlies in October.

The All Whites will face DR Congo in Spain on October 13th, before coming closer to home to play Australia at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium.

The 19-year-old was born in New Zealand, but as his family have Brazilian, Portuguese and English links and have lived in England for years, he is also eligible to play for Brazil, Portugal and England.

Although being given the New Zealand call-up, the youngster hasn't declared himself to any country as of yet.

A pleased Matt told fulhamfc.com: "It’s a great opportunity for me to play against senior level players and it can help give me a platform to perform against First Team opponents.

"Hopefully it will help open more doors for me and I’m just looking forward to seeing what it’s like."

All Whites head coach Darren Bazeley added: “Matt is a player we have been tracking for a while and he has made really good progress over the last year, getting closer to the Fulham First Team.

“It will be great to bring him into camp for the first time and give him a taste of senior international action, especially ahead of a big year with events like the Paris 2024 Olympics.”
