Fulham Under-21s made it five league wins from five on Monday, beating West Bromwich Albion 3-0 away from home.

Our youngsters again controlled proceedings, with Dibley-Dias firing us ahead with a beauty in the first half before goals from substitutes Chris Donnell and Callum McFarlane.

Hayden Mullins named a strong side to take on the young Baggies, with George Wickens starting in goal and Luke Harris being given the nod in midfield alongside Adrion Pajaziti and captain Matt Dibley-Dias. Kristian Šekularac was given a different role, starting up front.

The lads enjoyed the majority of control in the early stages, with Šekularac going for goal early on from range. His effort was a tame one and easily dealt with by goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead.

It was all Fulham, with Adrion Pajaziti testing the ‘keeper a few minutes later after being cleverly slotted through by Harris. His attempt from a tight angle was palmed clear.

The game lacked rhythm in the 10 minutes that followed, with the hosts needing to make two early substitutions due to injury. One of those substitutes curled just over from a close-range free-kick.

Araujo on the ball

We should’ve grabbed the lead just past the 20-minute mark. Šekularac swung in a delightful cross into the path of Harris, whose unmarked diving header was fired straight at Hollingshead.

Then, Pajaziti had yet another effort saved before Šekularac’s follow-up cross travelled all the way across the six-yard box and out.

We deservedly went ahead just before the break, and what a strike it was from our captain Dibley-Dias. His first time hit from miles out flew through a series of bodies before rifling into the top right corner.

After a dominant half in the Midlands, the young Whites went in at half-time one goal to the good.

Matt Dibley-Dias

The first attempt after the interval came from Ollie O’Neill, whose strike was comfortably caught by the ‘keeper.

O’Neill got himself on the end of another opening on 57 minutes, latching onto a delivery from the right but directing his header high and wide.

We opted for some changes a few minutes later, with goalscorer Dibley-Dias and Harris making way for George Okkas and Donnell.

Those changes paid off for us within a few minutes, with Donnell grabbing our second of the evening. The Australian latched onto a brilliant Jon Esenga cross before calmly smashing home at the back post.

Donnell makes an impact!

Callum McFarlane nearly made an immediate impact himself after coming on. Okkas slotted O’Neill through down the left, but his decent cross was just slightly too far forward for the substitute, who was at full stretch.

Two soon became three with 84 minutes on the clock, and it was McFarlane who netted. Devan Tanton, as he so often does, swung in an inch-perfect cross which was expertly headed home by the striker. His header had as much accuracy as it did power.

Another perfect performance from our boys on the road.
