The first ever Skills Club Festival took place on Saturday 3rd August, seeing over 70 young footballers take to the pitch at the prestigious Fulham FC Training Ground.

As the Skills Club season has now drawn to a close, the Skills Club Festival was seen as a celebration of the end of the season, celebrating the new skills our young players have learnt within Skills Club through mini fixtures in a tournament setting.

Over 15,000 minutes of football was played on the day, with each pitch providing a different challenge. Children were tasked with gaining extra points for their teams during the matches, which were added to their teams’ total points. These extra points were linked to the pitch topic which included passing, shooting and defending.

Skills Club Festival at Fulham FC

"I was delighted to be at our first Skills Club Festival, where participants got to experience playing at Fulham FC’s Training Ground, watched on by their parents and carers. The festival focused on fair play, sporting values and teamwork and this was great to see. The smiles on players faces reflected how much the festival was enjoyed," - Mike McSweeney, CEO, Fulham FC Foundation.

"It was an excellent skills club festival which was made even more special because parents could watch," - Tim, Parent, Fulham FC Foundation.

As the day came to a close, a great deal of tired but happy faces left the training ground, already looking forward to next year’s festival. Fulham FC Foundation continues to make a lasting impact through events like these, fostering a love for football and empowering the next generation of players.
