A combination of injury and suspension means five players will miss Fulham’s match against league leaders Liverpool on Saturday.

Tom Cairney and Calvin Bassey each serve a ban, but will both be back in contention next week, while Reiss Nelson is set for an extended period on the sidelines after hurting his hamstring in the Brighton win.

Joachim Andersen and Harrison Reed are continuing their respective rehabilitations from injury.

When asked for an update on squad availability in his pre-match press conference, Silva said: “No fresh news, really, just Joachim and Harrison Reed, plus Reiss Nelson from the game we played against Brighton.

Reiss Nelson receives treatment

“They are going to be out for the game, and of course, the third game of Tom Cairney, plus the fifth yellow card from Calvin Bassey.”

In terms of timeframes for our injured boys, Andersen is not too far away now that he’s back out on the grass, but it will unfortunately be months before we see Nelson again.

“Difficult to have a really precise time in this situation,” Silva explained. “I believe that Joa probably is going to be the closest one to come [back].

“Harrison Reed, we have to see, step by step. Reiss Nelson is going to be longer. Difficult to say when he's going to be back, but probably around 10 weeks he’s going to be out, for sure.”
