Fulham Under-21s host Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening (7pm ko) in the Premier League Cup Round of 16.

The one-off tie, which will be played under the Motspur Park lights, will go to extra-time and penalties if required.

Form

Fulham:

Hayden Mullins' side comfortably topped Group G, finishing on 11 points after six games. The young Whites will be hoping to turn the tide on Tuesday, following a run of five games without a win across all competitions.

Middlesbrough:

Boro finished second in Group H, just two points above qualification chasers Ipswich Town and Birmingham City. They've recently played out two very contrasting games, beating Birmingham City 4-0 in this very competition, before suffering a 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the league on Friday.

Last Time Out

The young Whites last faced Boro back in March 2022, prior to the PL2 format change introduced at the beginning of this season. It wasn't to be a classic, with the game ending goalless. Hayden Mullins' side will face Middlesbrough again in early April in the league.

Tanton: Excitement In The Group

Exciting full-back Devan Tanton is ready to relish these knockout ties.

"The preparation stays consistent and we treat every game the same, but having said that, there is definitely an excitement in the group to play a higher pressure tie like the one coming up."

On Tuesday night's opposition, he added: "They have a very physical and direct style of play. They’ll look to play in behind and we’ll have to adjust to nullify that and play our game.

"We have high confidence that this group can push far in this competition and have a go at the title, but we work in stages and all focus is on tomorrow and coming away with a win in front of our fans."
