Imagine putting on your Fulham shirt and walking out onto a Premier League pitch to represent your local football club. This dream came true for 16 pupils from local schools who won the Fulham FC Foundation Cup earlier in the year.
Latchmere Primary School and Cheam Common Junior represented Fulham FC at the national Premier League Primary Stars tournament at the GTECH Community Stadium on June 12th. The event not only gives boys and girls the unique experience of representing their local team and playing at a Premier League stadium, it also celebrates the work of 104 clubs in delivering PL Primary Stars throughout the year.
The pupils received first team treatment courtesy of Kingsferry and arrived on the First Team coach.

As excellent representatives of the Club, both teams played a variety of opposition in the group stage, including Burnley and Newcastle United.
Cheam Common Junior played in an extremely tight group and emulated the Premier League values throughout their matches. After a hard-fought group stage, the behaviour and attitudes of the players didn’t go unnoticed and the team were nominated for the ‘Fair Play Award’ by Premier League officials.

"Fulham provided the girls with five-star treatment, from the preparation day on Monday to arriving in style on the team bus for the tournament on Wednesday. The girls were so proud to be representing Fulham and had been looking forward to this day for seven months; it did not disappoint. A great day of football and a real professional experience that will live long in the memory of all of the girls at Cheam Common, and likely be told around many tables in the future." - Jamie Greaves, PE Lead at Cheam Common Junior.
Latchmere Primary School competed terrifically throughout the tournament and made their way to the final before losing graciously to Brighton & Hove Albion. Captain, Tobias, took home the golden boot for finishing the tournament as top goal scorer.

"We are extremely proud of the children who represented Fulham at this event. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that they will remember forever. It’s amazing that we can help facilitate opportunities like this for local children." - Kayleigh Bowers, Primary Education Manager
