Macauley Rogers has a long history with Fulham FC. Even before becoming a regular participant in Fulham FC Foundation activities, Macauley was already making his mark at the Club.
At the age of nine, Macauley first took part in Fulham FC Foundation activities participating in Soccer Schools and our Goalkeeper School programmes. He soon progressed as a goalkeeper into what is now known as our Player Pathway programme and was a regular participant up until the age of 16. More recently he joined our Football and Education programme from the age of 16-18.
The Football and Education programme aims to provide exceptional football and academic experiences to aspiring student-athletes. During Macauley’s time on the Football and Education programme he gained different experiences on and off the pitch, such as playing at St George’s Park and other first-team stadiums, whilst also engaging in different educational workshops and other Fulham FC programmes. These experiences have helped Macauley improve holistically, developing skills such as leadership, communication and resilience.

“I saw Macauley develop immensely during his two years on the Football and Education programme, his knowledge and understanding of the game increased and he became a pivotal character within the group.” – Ed Turnbull, Football and Education Head Coach.

Macauley has always wanted to work in football, if not as a player then as a coach, and the Made in Fulham programme sought to support him towards that goal.

Made in Fulham helps aspiring coaches take their first steps into a football coaching career by providing opportunities to achieve entry-level football coaching qualifications, gain valuable work experience in real life coaching environments, and receive individualised support through 1-2-1 mentoring from an experienced coach educator.
Made in Fulham is supported by the Premier League and Professional Footballer’s Association. Administered through the Premier League Charitable Fund, the funding helps football clubs to tackle inequality and respond to local challenges, supporting people and their communities to be more inclusive.

Macauley started on Made in Fulham in August 2023, as part of the programme's very first cohort. As a Made in Fulham participant, Macauley achieved four coaching qualifications; EE Playmaker, Introduction to Futsal, Disability Football Introduction, and the Introduction to Coaching Football qualification, which included Introduction to First-Aid in Football and the Safeguarding Children Course.
Macauley also had the opportunity to learn about coaching and hone his coaching skills by undertaking work experience in two of Fulham FC Foundation's Foundation community based programmes - Football and Education and Saturday Skills Club.
“During my time on Made in Fulham I completed work experience at some interesting Fulham FC Foundation programmes. Whilst at these sessions, I learned how to construct and carry out a session that the young players would find fun and engaging. Additionally, they taught me how to communicate with the players and adapt to a player’s needs and capabilities.” – Macauley

Since completing Made in Fulham, Macauley has continued on his coaching journey and secured a role as a casual coach at Fulham FC Foundation. Having gained employment with Fulham FC Foundation, the future looks bright for Macauley Rogers, having started as a participant and now working as a coach, he truly is Made in Fulham.
