Never put an age limit on your dream!

Fulham Memories is a free community programme delivered by Fulham FC Foundation that works with older adults aiming to alleviate social isolation while supporting conditions like dementia that are common in older populations.

Earlier this year, Fulham FC Foundation launched our first ever ‘Fulympics’ tournament, bringing some of the Olympic spirit along with a variety of sporting exercises to our regular weekly activities.

Fulympics participants

Competitions were held across four of our Fulham Memories clubs, across the boroughs of Kingston, Merton and Wandsworth.

Our Fulham Memories attendees were invited to compete in individual and team events inspired by the Olympics, including beanbag shotput, javelin, golf ladder, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball and, of course, a firm favourite, boccia.

Overall it was an exciting and fun two weeks which brought to light the competitive and youthful nature of all involved.

Medals were awarded to the top three competitors at each of our Fulham Memories venues, while a special award was made to the group from Manresa in Roehampton, who were crowned Fulham Memories ‘club champions’ based on their overall scores.

“I’ve never won anything before. I loved everything we did, thank you so much.” - Kathy, Fulham Memories participant.

“At Fulham FC Foundation, we are extremely proud and honoured to deliver such uplifting and motivating activities, bringing everyone together as a community, but most of all keeping them moving and laughing. The highlight for myself was how excited every participant was to try something new, and asking for more events.” - Katrina Webb, Health Development Assistant, Fulham FC Foundation
