Fulham picked up their latest Premier League 2 win in dramatic fashion, beating Leeds by a 5-3 scoreline at the LNER Community Stadium.
A flurry of goals after half time had given the Whites a commanding position, with an OG from Joe Snowden, a super effort from Josh King, and a penalty from Adrion Pajaziti putting them three to the good.
A cross deflected off an unfortunate Luc de Fougerolles to reduce the deficit, Snowden scored at the right end to set up a nervy finish, and Joe Richards levelled things up.
But on 88 minutes, Terell Works made his mark in the box to regain the lead, and a neat finish from Delano McCoy-Splatt made the result safe.
The visitors enjoyed the lion’s share of possession from the start, putting their composure on the ball to good use by creating a shooting opportunity for McCoy-Splatt, which had to be saved by goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel.
The best opportunity of the half fell to McCoy-Splatt on the half-hour mark as he met a deep cross, but goal-line blocks from the attempted first-time finish and follow-up kept the scores level.
A low shot from Pajaziti after driving into the box had to be pushed wide, and the Albania international came even closer when his free-kick delivery evaded everyone before kissing the post.
The deadlock was broken just three minutes after the interval, when a corner from dangerman Pajaziti looped off a Leeds head and just about crossed the line for an own goal.
And Fulham found a quickfire second moments later when Pajaziti picked out King in the box, who pulled off an exquisite first touch and finish to double the lead.
With the floodgates open, King was bundled over in the box and Pajaziti rifled the resulting spot-kick low to the goalkeeper’s right for his team’s third.
More Fulham attacks followed, but van den Heuvel was able to get fingertips to George Okkas’s venomous shot from the edge of the box.
A spirited Leeds pulled one back when a pull-back in the penalty area from Snowden found its way into the net off the toe of de Fougerolles at full stretch.
And when Snowden found space in the penalty area with 10 minutes left, he lashed the ball into the top corner to set up a nervy finish.
The home side completed their comeback when Joe Richards and Morten Spencer played a neat one-two, and the former’s effort beat Alex Borto at the near post.
But with just two minutes left on the clock, Fulham found a fourth when Devan Tanton sent in a free-kick and substitute Works bundled home at the second attempt
And there was still time for Delano McCoy-Splatt to put gloss on the victory with a cool strike past van den Heuvel in the dying moments.
