Fulham Under-21s made it six wins from seven in PL2 with a controlled 3-0 victory at West Ham United.

A brace from Kristian Šekularac and a second half strike from Callum Osmand saw Hayden Mullins' side bounceback from the heavy midweek defeat at League One leaders Birmingham City in a professional manner.

Šekularac gave us the lead after just five minutes – but it was Terrell Works’ mazy run that created the goal. He carried the ball down the left to the byline and pulled it back for the Switzerland youth international to finish.

Works was a bag of tricks down the left side and there were some appeals for a penalty when he was taken down in the box by Ryan Battrum, but the referee waved play on.

Josh Briggs put the ball narrowly past Alex Borto’s near post midway through the first period, as he looked to thread the ball into the bottom corner as he met Favour Fawunmi’s cutback.

The hosts couldn’t have gone any closer when Fawunmi rattled the crossbar with an ambitious snapshot, before Lewis Orford forced a smart save from Borto on the follow up attempt.

On the stroke of the interval, Orford tried to catch our American shot-stopper out with a dipping shot from 25 yards which sailed just over crossbar.

Just like he did in the first-half, Šekularac was looking to get himself an early goal in the second period, driving forwards with the ball from deep, but his shot was down the throat of Finlay Herrick.

Fawunmi’s dazzling feet were proving a threat as he dragged another shot just wide of the post, before Borto showed demonstrated his bravery when rushing out to claim the ball at the feet of Daniel Rigge.

We doubled our lead when Osmand timed his run into the box to perfection and finished expertly past Herrick, meeting Loupalo-Bi’s dangerous cross.

There was a swagger and confidence about our play in the second period and that was on show when Lemar Gordon put in a delicious cross for Osmand, only for his header to nestle the side netting.

Mullins’ men remained strong at the other end, with Samuel Amissah making a big block as Fawunmi looked to guide an effort into the top corner, while Borto made a stunning fingetip save to deny a powerful Battrum drive.

Hammers defender Luis Brown was shown a straight red card in stoppage-time after pulling back Gordon as he was closing in on goal - and we took full advantage with just seconds to play as Šekularac swept the ball into the bottom corner from range.

Our U21s are next in action on Tuesday 5th November with a trip to Wealdstone in the National League Cup, 7pm kick-off.
