On Sunday 17th November, Fulham FC Foundation hosted their first Women’s Walking Football Tournament of the 2024/25 season.
We were able to host the tournament as part of our new EmpowHer programme which is supported by the Premier League Fans Fund. The Premier League Fans Fund provides grants to support football clubs at all levels of the game to strengthen connections between them, their fans and local communities.
We welcomed 10 teams to Fulham FC’s Training Ground in Motspur Park, from Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Fleet WWFC, Forever Fishponds, Fulham, Maidenhead United, North London United WFC, Steppers Women of Colour, Walton & Hersham and Woking.
After a tightly contested group stage, eight teams progressed to the quarter-finals, with Crystal Palace, Maidenhead United, North London United WFC and Walton & Hersham taking the semi-final places.
After two tough games, Crystal Palace and Walton & Hersham took to the pitch for the final to claim the top spot. Both teams had shown a lot of talent throughout and were well matched in the final, finishing 0-0 at full-time and looking to the penalty spot to decide. After four successful penalties across the board, the win was confirmed by Crystal Palace with their final kick of the day!
Fulham FC Women stars Becky Stormer and Sophie Manzi came down to cheer on the teams throughout the day and presented the winners with their trophies and medals, before the tournament teams went to watch FFCW face Sport London E Benfica later that afternoon.

Although Walton & Hersham narrowly missed out on the winners' trophy, they did take home the Fair Play trophy for exceptional sporting behaviour throughout the tournament, showing unwavering respect to each other, their opponents and the referees.
The day also saw Anna from North London United WFC take home the trophy for Player of the Day after exhibiting some great walking football throughout and excellent saves and blocks from her position as goalkeeper.
Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to all of the teams for joining us and making it such a brilliant event.
We will return in March 2025 with our annual International Women’s Day Tournament. The date will be confirmed early 2025.
“The tournament was very well organised, had a friendly atmosphere and catered for teams of all abilities. The facilities are first class. The Fulham FC Walking Football organising team are very personable and approachable.” – Nancy, Women’s Walking Football Tournament player
“I absolutely love being able to host tournaments for so many female walking football players to come down to the training ground and play together. Each tournament we end up with more and more teams and I think this is a huge testament to the players themselves for creating such a fun, friendly and inclusive environment. It’s so important we keep pushing the boundaries of women’s sport and I can’t wait to see more women next time!” – Laura Everton, Health Development Manager, Fulham FC Foundation
