Fulham FC mark 16 days of activism against gender-based violence with partnership with Transport for London

Fulham Football Club is proud to announce a collaboration with Transport for London (TfL) today to support White Ribbon Day 2024 and the global campaign of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This partnership highlights both organisations’ commitment to fostering a safer and more inclusive community.

White Ribbon Day, observed annually on 25 November, calls for men and boys to take a stand against violence towards women and girls. Fulham FC and TfL have joined forces to amplify this vital message and encourage collective action to end gender-based violence.

Fulham FC’s support for the campaign was prominently marked during our matchday at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The fixture, held at Craven Cottage, featured initiatives to raise awareness of the cause, including messaging on the big screens, an information stand for supporters, and a moment of recognition for White Ribbon Day.

As part of our continued commitment, Fulham FC will also work with Women’s Aid and Women’s Refuge: I Choose Freedom to highlight the importance of education and support in tackling gender-based violence.

Key upcoming initiatives include:

  • A designated Women’s Aid fixture on 5 December, at our home match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
  • A fixture in collaboration with White Ribbon UK and Women’s Refuge: I Choose Freedom, at our home game against Arsenal on 8 December
  • Gender Equality Leaning and development for staff
  • Workshop delivery in local schools

Both upcoming home matches in December will be key opportunities to engage supporters in conversations about the importance of education, prevention, and support for survivors of gender-based violence throughout the 16 days of activism and beyond.

TfL’s role in the collaboration launched today includes promoting the campaign across its extensive transport network. Posters, digital screens, and announcements will share the White Ribbon message, urging Londoners to recognise the importance of preventing violence and supporting survivors.

“TfL is committed to ensuring that London’s transport network is a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. By partnering with Fulham Football Club, we aim to further raise awareness of gender-based violence and inspire men and boys to be active allies in eliminating it. This is an issue that affects us all, and we are proud to stand together in support of White Ribbon Day.” - TFL Community Rep

The campaign aligns with broader efforts to create a society where violence is not tolerated, and everyone feels safe and valued.
