A last-gasp Logan Cooke goal gave Fulham Under-18s a dramatic 2-1 win at Leicester City.

Our Young Whites had to withstand a barrage of pressure in the second period after Kirtsen Otchere cancelled out Bashil Lubega’s opener, but Cooke stepped up with the last kick of the game to make it four wins on the spin for Ali Melloul’s side.

It was a quick start from the hosts and Dino Kaiser was called into action almost immediately, making a smart stop with his feet to deny Lorenz Hutchinson.

The chances then began to fall our way as Farhaan Ali Wahid tested Freddie Mason twice from range in a 10-minute period, the first of which was a fantastic diving save to his left.

Under-16s defender Archie Taylor was making his first start for the 18s and was impressive on his debut, making a big block from a Biz Owusu shot – before Kevon Gray headed over from the resulting corner.

Tom Wingate showed great tenacity and pace on the half hour mark as he went one-on-one with Mason, but the goalkeeper made a good stop to deny the striker, who then saw a follow up effort cleared off the line.

The opener came just a few minutes later, and it was Wingate’s strike partner who gave us the lead. Lubega pounced on error from Mason, tackled him inside his own six yard box and blasted the ball into an empty net.

Alex Faux went on a marauding run down the right side at the start of the second period, putting the ball on a plate for Wingate, but he couldn’t keep his header down.

Ali Wahid then couldn’t have gone any closer to doubling our lead as he was cruelly denied by the inside of the post after going on a trademark mazy dance down the left – and then Zepa saw his shot blocked.

However, our Young Whites failed to double the lead and were punished at the other end. A stunning strike from Otchere had power, placement and movement, flying into the top corner and leaving Kaiser with no chance.

The momentum had swung – and Aluko Olabade would have been disappointed not to have put the Foxes ahead, dragging a shot past the far post after driving into the area.

In the last seconds, a deep Luca Picotto free-kick was sent back across the box by Aidan Evans and Cooke finished expertly with his left foot to spark jubilant scenes among the lads.

Our U18s are next in action at Chelsea on Saturday 2nd November, 11am kick-off.
