Last season, a group of over 50 people, made up of participants from our DisAbility programmes, their families and other Fulham fans, took part the annual Fulham Family Walk, raising almost £10,000 to support Fulham FC Foundation’s DisAbility work.
Those who registered for the walk were able to choose whether to complete one, two or three laps of the 4-mile course, which started and finished at Craven Cottage. Our final lap had a very special guest, Billy the Badger joining our walkers for the last 4 miles prior to watching the game v Crystal Palace.
The day started bright and early with the dedicated ‘12 milers’ kicking us off at 7:30am to get lap one under way, they were then joined by more walkers each time they passed Craven Cottage as our group grew and grew. Along the route the walkers had to search out the 12 ‘Billy’s Trail’ clue boards, each one providing them with a clue to give them a letter, to be unscrambled, forming a final word or phrase.
The Fulham Family Walkers were lucky enough to be provided with drinks and snacks at our two pit stops along the way: Riverside Studios, Hammersmith and Loo Loos Café, Putney.
As the final lap came to a close, the group left Bishop's Park walking the final stretch down Stevenage Road, to be presented with their finishers' medals in front of the Johnny Haynes Statue. The walkers were then provided with a packed lunch from Sodexo before making their way inside the stadium to complete a pre-match lap of honour around the pitch.

“I really enjoyed the walk because it gave me an opportunity to socialise with new people and chat with my friends whilst being in the fresh air. The highlight of the day was the welcome at Craven Cottage when we finished the walk, and watching the match was great fun.” - William, Fulham FC Foundation DisAbility participant
“My highlight of the day was the excitement and enjoyment of the young people participating in the walk, especially on the walk inside the ground itself and watching the game after.” - Diana, Parent of Fulham FC Foundation DisAbility participant
“This is a highlight of my year, thank you for organising and long may it continue!” - Amy, Sister of Fulham FC Foundation DisAbility participant
“We would like to thank each and every one of our amazing Fulham Family Walkers, who helped to raise such a great amount of money this year. Each year the group of people taking part grows and it is lovely when we are able to have supporters of the football club joining us and supporting our DisAbility Programmes.” - Katy Shephard, DisAbility Development Manager, Fulham FC Foundation
