Fulham Football Club and Manchester United FC, in collaboration with adidas, hosted an unforgettable experience for 30 members of the #Merky FC community in Manchester last month.

The event, timed perfectly to coincide with National Inclusion Week, provided participants with an exclusive inside look at life within a Premier League football club, and the opportunities available to them.

#Merky FC, founded by renowned artist Stormzy and adidas, aims to create opportunities for young people from underrepresented communities within the football industry. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity, which this event further highlighted.

The day-long event was held at University Academy 92 (UA92), where Harry Pinero, a prominent media personality, served as the host. Pinero shared his inspiring personal journey, from working at Co-op to becoming a leading figure in the media space and collaborating with top football talents and organisations.

Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Fulham FC's Commercial Director, Jon Don-Carolis, and Joshua Lambdon (Partnerships Acquisitions Manager), who offered valuable insights into their careers and the world of football partnerships.

The Inclusion team, alongside representatives from Manchester United, played a crucial role in organising the day, ensuring that it was filled with learning, inspiration, and excitement. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between leading football clubs, brands like adidas, and community initiatives like #Merky FC, in driving meaningful change.

As part of National Inclusion Week, this event showcased the power of sport in fostering diversity and creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. By providing access to real-life experiences within the football industry, Fulham FC, Manchester United, and adidas continue to demonstrate their commitment to playing sports more inclusively.
