The opposition

A stunning maiden campaign in charge for Arne Slot has seen Liverpool all but wrap up the Premier League title already, holding a 12-point lead over closest challengers Arsenal with eight games to go, following their 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday.

Up until a few weeks ago, the Reds had been competing on three fronts, but a tough six day period saw them exit the UEFA Champions League after losing on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain, before Newcastle United defeated them at Wembley in the Carabao Cup Final.

Team news

🤍 Kenny Tete is in contention to make the squad for the first time since December. Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson remain out.

🔴 Alisson Becker missed the Everton win through concussion protocols, and it remains to be seen if he'll be passed fit to play at the weekend. Curtis Jones played right-back in the derby and may deputise again, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez definitely out, and Conor Bradley still a doubt.

Programme

Issa Diop takes centre stage in the official matchday programme.

With only 15 Premier League starts to his name, the towering defender hasn’t played as much as he would have liked this season. However, his professionalism and commitment to the team remain unwavering. And, as Fulham push towards the business end of the campaign, Diop is ready to step up whenever called upon.

“I’m a team player,” Diop said. “It doesn’t matter if I play or not as long as we’ve won. If the team are doing well, I’m happy.

“Of course, everyone wants to play every minute of every game, but if you’re not starting you can still help your team. I’m a patient guy, I’m happy to wait for my chance. Then when it comes, I have to take it and try and stay in the side."

Elsewhere in the publication, Danny Murphy looks back on memorable spells at Liverpool and Fulham, Andreas Pereira answers some random questions, and we get to know FFC Women’s star Leeta Rutherford.

Ken Coton delves into his picture archive to recall a previous clash with the Reds, Marco Silva, Tom Cairney, Robert Wilson and Dean Jones supply their regular notes, and Marcell Hall is the focus of our Academy Ace feature.

Packed with a host of features, the 104-page programme will be on sale around the ground on Sunday priced £4. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy online.
