Year 6 pupils at Dunraven Primary school were given a special treat as Fulham stars Emile Smith Rowe and Ryan Sessegnon met with them to share their personal experiences with how footballers’ lives can change and the effects this could have, and give advice on transitioning to secondary school. As part of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme, the two Fulham FC stars offered invaluable guidance, reminiscing about their own journeys in both football and education.
Supported by the Premier League Charitable Trust, Premier League Primary Stars aims to engage and inspire a diverse range of children through the programme.
This special opportunity came as a reward for the pupils’ hard work in the Premier League Primary Stars ‘Social Action Challenge’ competition, where they impressed the judges with a powerful presentation about their mixture of emotions around transitioning to secondary school. They skilfully related their presentation to Emile Smith Rowe’s own incredible footballing journey of moving between teams.

“The Social Action Project has had an immense impact on the six boys who took part in a number of ways, from the camaraderie between them to the improvements in their own confidence, resilience and public speaking skills. The boys presented their project remarkably well to a panel of judges. Meeting Emile Smith Rowe and Ryan Sessegnon and discussing their project with them was a moment they will truly never forget. All the boys and adults from Dunraven would like to thank everyone at Fulham for the wonderful opportunity” – Teacher from Dunraven School
