The opposition

A brilliant first half of the season had some touting Chelsea as potential title contenders, but the 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Boxing Day sparked a decline – the first of six defeats they’ve suffered in their last 15 fixtures. They’ve also drawn their previous two Premier League outings, following up a goalless draw at Brentford with a 2-2 stalemate at home to Ipswich Town.

There was midweek action for the Blues as they booked their spot in the Semi-Finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, though it was a disappointing performance at Stamford Bridge as they were beaten 2-1 by Legia Warsaw. However, a 3-0 win in the first leg a week earlier meant they got over the line on aggregate.

Programme

Harrison Reed is the main interview in the official matchday programme.

The midfielder’s minutes may have been limited this term, but his influence and determination remain as vital as ever.

“I'm not one to keep knocking on the manager’s door,” he said. “I just try to show him every day what I bring to the table. If and when he needs me, hopefully he knows and sees that I'm ready.”

Elsewhere in the publication, Mark Schwarzer looks back on spells at Fulham and Chelsea, Issa Diop answers some random questions, and we get to know FFC Women’s star Beau Parker.

Ken Coton delves into his picture archive to recall a previous clash with the Blues, Marco Silva, Tom Cairney, Robert Wilson and James Andrew supply their regular notes and Joe Walters is the focus of our Academy Ace feature. We also remember former Fulham goalkeeper Corrin Brooks-Meade following his untimely death at the age of 37.

Packed with a host of features, the 104-page programme will be on sale around the ground on Sunday priced £4. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy online.
