Fulham FC Foundation's Premier League Inspires team has secured their first partner school within Hammersmith and Fulham.

The team has a strong relationship with Hammersmith & Fulham council, particularly Matthew Coulbeck (Secondary Adviser for Education and Children Services), who is one of the governors at Ormiston Bridge Academy. Matthew was keen to get Fulham FC Foundation involved with Ormiston Bridge Academy, which is adjacent to Fulham FC’s home, Craven Cottage, on Finlay Street.

“It is great to see Fulham FC Foundation working with the young people from Ormiston Bridge Academy," said Matthew Coulbeck, Hammersmith and Fulham Council. "The Premier League Inspires programme can help inspire and make a positive difference to these young people while also adding a bit of fun too! The young people from the school will appreciate being supported, challenged, and made to feel special… good to see Fulham having this impact in the local community.”

Students from Ormiston Bridge Academy

The programme will support students in Ormiston Bridge Academy's year nine and 10 classes. The focus will be on helping them to achieve a qualification and delivering a social action project within the community. These activities will support them in their school journey, developing teamwork, leadership, confidence, resilience, listening skills, and many more skills.

Matthew Daws, Student Services Manager at Ormiston Bridge Academy, has been a strong advocate for the programme and suggested that to ensure full engagement and impact sessions will be run at WEST Youth Zone near Shepherd's Bush. WEST provides quality facilities, and it will provide a change of environment for the students. With access to a rooftop multipurpose pitch, the students will be able to come together and develop both individually and as a group.

“We are very excited to have started our delivery with Ormiston Bridge Academy students in years 9 and 10, boys and girls, at the amazing venue, WEST Youth Zone, where we will be working with them up until the end of the school year," said Lauren Binfield, Youth Engagement Officer, Fulham FC Foundation. "I am looking forward to seeing the student’s development and growth while on the programme. It has been great to be able to build such a positive and collaborative relationship with both the school and Hammersmith and Fulham Council who have been a massive support in making it possible.”
