🆚 Wigan Athletic
🏟 The Brick Community Stadium
🏆 Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round
🗓 Saturday 8th February
⏰ 3pm
#️⃣ WIGFUL

The opposition

Wigan had to really fight for their spot in Round Four, needing extra time to see off Carlisle – who played with 10 men from the 14th minute – and Cambridge United, the sides bottom of Leagues Two and One, respectively. Their Round Three victory was more routine, though, as two goals from top scorer Thelo Aasgaard saw them win at Mansfield, a club who sit just above them in the middle of the League One standings.

A number of subplots permeate this fixture – twin brothers Ryan and Steven Sessegnon could play against each other competitively for the first time in their careers, Martial Godo returns to the side where he impressed on loan last season, and Latics manager Shaun Maloney played under Marco Silva at Hull City.

Team news

🔵 Wigan will be without Luke Chambers, Jon Mellish, Ollie Norburn, Silko Thomas, Joe Adams, Matt Smith, Baba Adeeko, Kai Payne and Tyrese Francois. Fellow former Fulham man Steven Sessegnon is in contention, though, after recovering from injury. Callum McManaman and Josh Robinson are doubts.

🖤 Harry Wilson and Kenny Tete are out, while Reiss Nelson suffered a new injury this week which will unfortunately sideline him once again. Marco Silva said he expects it to take a couple of weeks to get the returning Willian up to full speed.
