There’s a top of the table clash at Motspur Park on Saturday morning as Fulham Under-18s host Crystal Palace, 11am kick-off.

Palace are the current occupiers of top spot in the U18s Premier League South, rising to the summit last weekend following a 4-1 thumping of Aston Villa, although a victory on Saturday for our Young Whites would see us leapfrog our rivals.

In the reverse fixture at Palace, our youngsters put in arguably their most complete performance of the campaign, winning 6-0 in Beckenham, with six different players on the scoresheet.

But Rob Quinn’s side have only lost once since that demolition back in mid-September, form which has seen them rise to the top of the division.

Chingwaro: Competing for the league is great

New signing Seth Chingwaro was on club media duties ahead of the clash against Palace.

Seth, who impressed in last weekend’s win at West Brom - playing a key role in our second goal of the match - has settled in quickly at Fulham.

A quote from Seth Chingwaro

“I’ve enjoyed pretty much every moment of it so far,” he said. “I’ve played three games and I’ve done quite well in all three.

“I’ve had to adjust to the playing style a little bit but overall I think I’ve adjusted well. In midfield, it’s just about keeping things ticking.

"Since I've joined, the team has been high up in the table, so competing for the league is great. I saw that the boys played Palace earlier in the season and got a good result. Hopefully we can do that again and I don’t see why we can’t with the players we have. We can definitely do that.”

State of play

The title race in the U18s Premier League South is hotting up, with the top seven teams separated by just six points.

There is a slightly misleading look to the table, with almost every team having played a different number of games so far. For example, our Young Whites are three points behind Saturday’s opponents but have five games in hand.

The 13 games that Ali Melloul’s side have played is the joint least in the division, but our points per game average of 1.92 is the joint highest.
