Raúl Jiménez’s strike away to Newcastle United – a move that he started and finished himself – has been named Fulham’s Goal of the Month for February.
The Whites were trailing to Jacob Murphy’s first half opener, but were a different beast after the restart, deservedly drawing level through Raúl’s volley just after the hour mark.
The striker was deep inside his own half when he spotted the chance to intercept a short Newcastle pass, nicking possession and sprinting forward with the ball before playing Adama Traoré to his right.
Adama then sprayed a pass out to the overlapping Antonee Robinson, whose first time cross found the perfectly timed run of Raúl, who did the rest with a cushioned finish.
The beautiful sweeping move claimed 39 per cent of the fan vote, seeing off the threat of Rodrigo Muniz, whose chip against Wolves was one of three R9 efforts in contention and came second on 30.6 per cent.
Ryan Sessegnon’s emotional strike in the same game rounded out the top three (19.4%).
