Fulham 0-3 Crystal Palace

Fulham’s FA Cup dream came to an end as they were beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace at the Quarter-Final stage.

It had been set up to be a big day at Craven Cottage, but goals from Eberechi Eze, Ismaïla Sarr and Eddie Nketiah ruled out a trip to Wembley for the Whites.

Buoyed by an incredible pre-match Cottage atmosphere, Fulham came out of the traps early, with Rodrigo Muniz breaking through and firing a warning shot just off target.

The first clear-cut chance fell to Andreas Pereira, as Calvin Bassey breezed through the Paalce defence before cutting the ball back, but the shot was swept wide of the post.

Despite the pressure, it was the away side who took the lead with half an hour played, as Eberechi Eze cut in from the left and found the bottom corner with a low, curling strike.

There was a chance for an immediate response, but goalkeeper Dean Henderson got behind Antonee Robinson’s effort from the edge of the box.

Instead, Palace doubled their lead when Eze caused problems again, this time delivering a cross for Ismaïla Sarr to nod home.

Unsurprisingly, Marco Silva’s men piled on the pressure after the break, but couldn’t create the goalscoring opportunities they needed to get back in the game.

After Willian’s deflected strike was pushed past the post, the resulting corner caused chaos in the box, with a last-ditch tackle preventing Bassey from sliding in to score.

It was increasingly looking as if it wasn’t going to be Fulham’s day, and when they left themselves open at the back, substitute Nketiah ran through to slot underneath Bernd Leno.

Despite plenty of huff and puff, and some attacking changes from the bench, there was to be no unlikely comeback.
