At the Fulham FC Foundation, we believe football has the power to bring people together and create unforgettable moments, no matter your age or background. At Fulham FC’s recent home game against Chelsea, we had the privilege of inviting a very special guest from our local community to see the action for himself.
Thanks to complimentary tickets provided by Fulham FC to Fulham FC Foundation, Ian, a local care home resident and lifelong Fulham supporter, was given the chance to experience his very first visit to Craven Cottage. It was something he had dreamed of for years but had never had the opportunity to do.
From the moment he stepped into the stadium, Ian was completely immersed in the energy and excitement of matchday. The roar of the crowd, chants echoing through the stands, and the thrill of the game made a lasting impression. He joined in with supporters, enjoyed some matchday treats, and even offered his own enthusiastic commentary throughout, delighting those around him.

“This is just brilliant,” Ian said. “I’d love to do this more often. It’s nice to experience something like this… because we don’t know how long we live for.”
Despite the result, Ian left the match with a huge smile. His experience served as a powerful reminder of how sport can foster moments of joy, inclusion, and connection. He even suggested more residents should be part of future outings, adding, “It’d be great to go as a group. When’s the next one?”
Moments like this are at the heart of what we do at the Fulham FC Foundation, creating opportunities that enrich lives and strengthen our community through the beautiful game.
